Whale

This piece was inspired by the amazing
3D caligraphy artist Tolga Girgin. I studied the way she added shadows and really made that effect pop. I amulated one of her pieces Whale.
I created this by using pencil to outline it,
then filled it in with light colored pencil and got darker has I seemed fit. Then took a sharpie and smudged it with the colored pencil. At the end, I added shadows to completely fufill the 3D look.
The Elements and Principles of Art
For this project, my teacher inspired me. She taught me the elements and principles of art very well to where I knew them like the back of my hand. She infused it into my brain and it has helped me throughout the year.
I used colored pencils and added many many layers. I used a variety of colors and blended in most places while pressing down semi hard. I outlined things in pen which gave it a bold effect.
Moonlight Romantics
In Moonlight Romantics, there is a woman and a man who is in love under the outside moonlight with an array of colors in the background. It made me think of movies when I was younger, I remember scenes about it and I really wanted to recreate it! I also tried to twist Vincent Van Gogh in the piece and use his style.
I made the artwork in the impressionism style by using short brush strokes and tons of layers. I used a round brush to perfect the harsh lines and define them.
The Tiger
This piece was a challenge. I started out doing a reflective piece and thought this piece would be more put together and unique. I was inspired bu images around the art room with different animals and things like that.
I used black paper and white colored pencil. I added lots of layers and drew backwards instead of outlining.
Perspective
I was inspired by big cities in general with this artwork. I love the scenery and the atmosphere of the big places with name brand stores and the busyness. There is so much to do!
A ruler was very significant in this project. I connected it to two points. The other media I used was simply pencil and dded fine details.
Adele
For this piece, Adele was my inspiration. I love her music and I thought she would be an interesting and different character to draw her amazing facial features!
On this project I used pencil and different ways of smoothing out rough looking areas with cotton balls or blending stumps or simply my finger.
Tiki Sculpture
For this sculpture, I studied the Tiki Gods which inspired me to amulate the God Kane! He is the God of the earth and is very nature-like.
I used clay tools to smooth or cut out pieces to completely put all of the textures such as wooden in it. These tools helped A LOT in making sure the sculpture was exactly how I envisioned it. It took several days but it was all worth it in the finished product!
I Had A Dream
A contest motivated me to draw this artwork. At first, I was a little iffy about it but as soon as I started drawing it, I know it was what I wanted to do. Martin Luther King Jr. was a civil rights activist who inspired many people like me to do amazing things!
I used grid lines at first and erased while I go. I used several methods of smoothing the surface and creating different textures. I then wrote the speech of his in the background to symbolize its importance.
